WHY DID I STOP

My inspiration for the first song “Why Did I Stop?” was to present a story while also not detailing it too much with the intention to allow free space for individual interpretation. The narrative of the piano song is about a person who is being encouraged to take action. This may show the beginning of an inner drive to work hard towards a personal objective or it may even represent a romantic interest. The song then undergoes minor and major key changes throughout the middle section, which represents the character's journey, to symbolise the ups and downs. Then unexpectedly, there is a break in the arpeggios, indicating that the person has stopped working on their dream and is no longer making any consistent progress. The simplicity and monotony of the melody in the final section, which is indicative of failure if you choose to interpret it that way, is audible.
